America: Love it or 'Change' it?

It wasn't too long ago that the slogan "America: Love it or Leave it" was plastered on billboards and bumper stickers. There was still a semblance of patriotism when seeing our flag waving in the breeze, or hearing a stirring rendering of "Stars and Stripes Forever." There still was respect for an Army general as he exhorted those under his command or the president's hearty salute after his descent from Air Force One. Something has gone awry, and many of us are gravely concerned. It's almost like a bad dream that's turning out to be true.
Former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani recently remarked that President Obama didn't really "love America" because of his socialistic agenda and desire to "change" much of what has made us a great nation. Rudy was blasted for his comments, being accused of judging Mr. Obama's patriotism. But the mayor was right on target, because he knows that actions speak louder than words. A tree in the orchard is identified by the fruit it bears. Obama's track record in so many areas places a dark shadow over his attitude toward historic "Americanism."
