"A Special Place In Hell"

"Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright Saturday admonished young women voters at a campaign event for Democrat Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire, telling them that "there's a special place in hell for women who don't help each other," is part of the story quoted by Todd Beamon from Newsmax.
Some of our readers are no doubt conscious of this statement. What is perverse about it is not the issue of who women should vote for in the upcoming election. Rather, it is the laughter that surrounded her statement. I listened to it on television and saw and heard this laughter that accompanied it. Can you find anything humorous about a woman being raped? How about a woman or man being murdered? How about someone you know who is in a car accident and is crushed to death?
No, it would be abhorrent to laugh at something so grave, serious, or life threatening. How much more is it beyond uncomely to laugh about people going to hell or the possibility of this?! To die unsaved, and to wake up in a place of suffering for ever and ever ("eternal fire," the Bible states) is a matter only for weeping, pleading, warning, and fearing. There is no place for laughter regarding hell. None.
Jokes about and joking about hell reveals a person does not believe there is a hell, or if they do, that they need to sober up about a matter that is more than a life and death matter. It is about an eternal life or eternal death matter.
"Fear not them which can kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him (God) who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."
