EPA to Control Landowners within Eau Claire River Watershed

Written By: Jerry Hanson  |  Posted: Friday, January 30th, 2015

Few, if any, Eau Claire County residents would classify the Eau Claire River as "dirty," but according to Eau Claire County's Kelly Jacobs, it is.  Is this an example of the government making up a problem to solve?  Is this another excuse for the County, State, and Federal Governments to control our properties?

The county has applied for and received a $50,000 grant from the Wisconsin DNR "to work with County Land Conservation Departments, Lake Districts, and landowners in the Eau Claire River Watershed to develop a plan for the management of phosphorus in the Eau Claire River system,"   according to Jacobs, who is the Land Conservation Supervisor for Eau Claire County.
