New Discovery Supports Flood Record in Bible

Dr. D. Graham Pearson, a Canadian geologist from the University of Alberta-Edmonton, has recently discovered evidence of vast amounts of water trapped within the earth's mantle. According to One News Now, Pearson studied diamonds in Brazil and found evidence that water was present in their formation. "The presence of hydrous ringwoodite in a diamond from transition-zone depths supports the view that high fluid activity, notably that of water, has a key role in the genesis of ultradeep diamonds," said Pearson. He concludes that there is a large repository of water 250 to 410 feet beneath the Earth's surface in the mantle which is the source of the earth's hydrosphere. This evidence of a massive subterranean water supply is in harmony with the Biblical account of the flood in the days of Noah. Genesis 7:11 states, "In the six hundredth year of Noah's life … all the fountains of the great deep broke up, and the windows of heaven were opened." Dr. Pearson believes that the water contained in the mantle is equivalent to the water of all the world's oceans.
