Firing of Atlanta Fire Chief Is Telling

Posted: Friday, January 30th, 2015
Recently, the fire chief of the Atlanta Fire Department was fired from his job. The mayor of Atlanta, Kasim Reed, fired fire chief Kelvin Cochran due to a book he published that concluded that homosexuality was immoral.
My guess is that most of our readers can immediately see the problem with taking this type of action. Where is the line drawn? For instance, if the fire chief had written a book about the immorality of drunkenness or drug addiction or adultery or fornication, would he have been fired? No. He would not have been fired, but when he writes or makes plain that sodomy (homosexuality) is immoral, he is fired.
