Purpose in the Park

            Recently, I visited my favorite stylist, and, as our usual appointments go, we share news, stories, and laughter during the service. We were talking about families and relationships when she began to share a recent afternoon with her baby daughter at Phoenix Park in downtown Eau Claire.

   She was sitting and enjoying the day, sunshine, birds singing, and warm smells. Then she began to hear harsh tones and overheard strange comments about drinking, smoking, and drugs. When she turned to observe where these sounds were coming from, she saw groups of other women and babies and small children.
