Making a Living the Old Way

Without much ado, allow me to plunge right into a vacuum today regarding making a living that is so large it is almost scary. I have come to the conclusion that in general most Americans view making a living as something that is only possible if someone gives them a job. We hear incessantly about how to find a job, the need to find a job, and having found a job. All of this refers to working for someone else. Why, there are even courses on how to write resumes in order to have a better chance at getting a job.
Now, in my day, we did not know of such a word as a resume. We were raised different. We were raised to work for others when needed, but more importantly, we were raised to make our own living. We did not depend on someone to hire us. At times they did, and we worked and we were glad for that. But the bottom line in making a living was not some factory that would hire us, and it certainly was not getting a check from the government. We made our own living. We developed a skill or service. We were, in a sense, all entrepreneurs. We were all businessmen.
What happened I am not sure. Corporatism took over and it is in full blown mode. So maybe a reminder and an appeal are in order. There is no such a thing as unemployment. There never was. Work is always available. If someone is not working, either they are lazy, untaught, or people have lost their ability to give a person day work. The third would not be true if any person decides to work for any amount of money doing anything for any amount of hours to get going. Those will find work and find it within 24 hours. I have never seen it fail.
So an offer might be in order. If you know of someone who needs work, I personally will help them. But in order to help them, they have to be humble enough to do anything for any amount in order to get going. If they are willing to do so, they can start working today. And more importantly, if they are really interested, they can start today working on making their own living. They will be surprised at how easy it is if they will be diligent and honest and responsible. The work is everywhere. It always has been. Forget about resumes and get to work. Get to work today. Let me help you if that is what you need. Making a living the old way still works.
